The Heart of Spain moves students through Madrid, Granada, and Seville — each one a different chapter in Spain's extraordinary story, and each one impossible to forget. In Madrid, students explore the Prado's masterworks and the grandeur of the Royal Palace before free time in Retiro Park lets them breathe and explore on their own terms. The road south passes through Consuegra, where Don Quijote's windmills still turn against the Castilian sky — Spanish literature, made real. Granada delivers the Alhambra, one of the world's great architectural achievements, alongside a City Challenge that sends students into the streets to discover the city for themselves. An optional flamenco evening adds rhythm and colour to the night. Seville rounds out the journey with a panoramic sightseeing tour, the soaring Gothic interior of its cathedral, and a walking tour through neighbourhoods that feel unchanged for centuries. On the way home, a stop in Mérida offers one final, unexpected encounter with the ancient world — a UNESCO World Heritage Roman ruin hiding in plain sight. Extend into the Costa del Sol with a Spirit of Andalusia day: a rural immersion through olive groves, almond trees, and village life, including an olive oil factory visit, an organic vegetable garden, and a historical house museum in Alfarnatejo.
