Frequently Asked Questions for London, Paris & Rome

Can you realistically see London, Paris, and Rome in 9 days without feeling too rushed?

Yes — and this is one of EF Tours' most popular itineraries for good reason. The tour is designed to give students a meaningful introduction to each city's highlights without overwhelming them. You'll typically spend 2–3 days in each capital, with guided tours covering the must-see landmarks efficiently and free time built in for personal exploration. The 11-day option adds extra time, which gives a more relaxed pace. Many students find that the variety of three world capitals — each with its own distinct personality — is precisely what makes this tour so memorable.

What is the difference between the 9-day and 11-day versions of this tour?

The 11-day version includes additional time in one or more cities, giving students more free exploration time and access to optional excursions that aren't possible in the shorter itinerary. The extended version includes Sorrento, Pompeii, and a tour of Capri. The 9-day version covers all the core highlights but at a brisker pace. Your EF Tour Consultant can walk you through the specific itinerary differences to help you choose the best fit for your group's schedule and budget.

Is the Eurostar train from London to Paris included in the tour?

Yes, the Eurostar high-speed train from London to Paris through the Channel Tunnel is included in the tour and is one of its signature experiences. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours and gives students the thrill of travelling between two countries via an undersea rail tunnel. It's a smooth, comfortable ride and a fascinating piece of engineering history in its own right. Students are supervised throughout the journey by the Tour Director.

What are the dress code requirements for visiting religious sites in Rome?

Religious sites in Rome — including St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican — enforce strict dress codes. Both men and women must have shoulders covered and wear clothing that covers the knees. Sleeveless tops, shorts, short skirts, and low-cut clothing are not permitted. Students should pack at least one modest outfit for Rome's religious site visits, or carry a light scarf or cardigan to cover shoulders. Your Tour Director will remind the group about dress code requirements before each visit so no one is caught off guard.

How much spending money should students budget for London, Paris, and Rome?

This tour visits three cities with different cost levels. London and Paris tend to be more expensive for personal spending, while Rome is generally more affordable for food and souvenirs. Since flights, hotels, breakfasts, and most dinners are included, students mainly need money for lunches, snacks, souvenirs, and any optional activities. London uses the British Pound (GBP), Paris uses the Euro (EUR), and Rome also uses the Euro. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in all three cities. A reasonable daily budget is $35–55 CAD equivalent, with London on the higher end. Your Tour Director can suggest affordable lunch spots in each city.

What curriculum connections does this tour support for Canadian students?

The London, Paris & Rome tour is one of the most curriculum-versatile EF itineraries available. London connects to British history, parliamentary democracy, and English literature. Paris brings the French Revolution, Enlightenment philosophy, and world-class art (the Louvre houses over 35,000 works) into sharp focus. Rome offers unparalleled connections to ancient history, the Roman Empire, Renaissance art, and religious studies. The tour supports History, Social Studies, World Religions, Art, French, and English curricula. EF also provides pre-trip and post-trip educational resources to help teachers integrate the travel experience into their classroom learning.
