Supporting a Sustainable Future in Ghana's Coastal Villages
Meaningful. Sustainable. Unforgettable.
Journey into Africa where you’ll discover Ghana’s vibrant culture, diverse wildlife and incredible history. Explore exciting new ecosystems during a canopy walk through the stunning Kakum National Forest, and try your hand—and head—at balancing water jars with locals. A visit to the Cape Coast Castle will frame your current service projects with Ghana’s storied past, including insight into their historic role in the slave trade and modern child labor practices. Working together with locals and the award-winning charity, WE Charity, you’ll construct and restore local schoolhouses, while getting to know each other over afternoon games of soccer and reflective campfires at night.

We work with the award-winning charity WE Charity to better understand the needs of each community and then focus projects on those issues. Themes include:
- Education
- Health
- Clean Water and Sanitation
- Alternative Income and Livelihood
- Agriculture and Food Security
Day 1: Fly Overnight to Accra
Day 2: Arrive in Accra
Meet your Field Director at the airport. After you arrive at your accommodations, settle in and meet your group for the country orientation and safety overview.
Days 3-9: Service Project – WE Charity Community
As communities evolve so do their needs. That’s why we work closely with WE Charity to better understand the local challenges. Since projects are determined closer to your actual tour date, here’s a glimpse at what a typical day might look like.
- Your service activities begin in a nearby village. Working side by side with locals, your education-focused projects will help to build and restore schools and improve literacy rates.
- Interspersed throughout the day, you’ll participate in activities that celebrate local culture, like language lessons, visiting a fishing village and palm oil factory, exploring the land on a sunset hike, and more.
- Each evening, you’ll reflect, discuss events as a group, and draw connections between the day’s work and relevant global issues.
Day 10: Depart for home
Travel to Accra for your departing flight.
