Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, with extension to London | AMP

From the whirring bicycle wheels of Amsterdam to the bustling streets of Paris, the sounds of some of Europe's most storied cities set the tempo for this immersive sojourn into their histories and cultures. Atop Westerkerk's tower in Amsterdam, catch a panoramic view of the city that includes the Secret Annex, where Anne Frank and her family hid from the occupying Nazis during World War II. In Brussels, marvel at the mirror-polished stainless steel spheres of The Atomium, a shining testament to Belgian engineering modelled after an iron crystal (magnified 165 billion times). Paris holds countless wonders, from the historic Place de la Concorde, to the iconic Eiffel Tower, to niche locales such as The Fragonard Perfume Factory, where you'll follow a fragrance's journey from petal to perfume, before following your nose in a scent guessing game. This colourful collection of three cities' worth of stunning architecture, gripping history, and cultural curios is yours to discover.

Frequently Asked Questions for Amsterdam and Paris

Is the Anne Frank House visit included, and what should students know before visiting?

Yes, a visit to the Anne Frank House is a key highlight of this tour. The experience takes students through the Secret Annex where Anne Frank and her family hid during World War II, offering a profoundly moving firsthand connection to the history they've studied in class. Students should be prepared for the emotional weight of the visit — the museum is solemn and respectful in tone. Your Tour Director will provide historical context before the visit to help students engage meaningfully with what they see.

What is the average group size, and how are students supervised?

EF Tours groups typically range from 15 to 40+ students, depending on how many schools or groups are travelling together. Every tour includes a full-time, professionally trained Tour Director who accompanies the group 24/7. Teachers and parent chaperones who enrol also provide additional supervision. During free time, students follow clear safety guidelines and curfews set by the Tour Director and your Group Leader, and they're expected to travel in groups of at least three. The supervision structure is designed to keep students safe while giving them age-appropriate independence.

Are the Eiffel Tower and Louvre visits included in the tour price?

Yes, guided visits to Paris's most iconic landmarks — including the Eiffel Tower area and the Louvre Museum — are part of the core itinerary. The Louvre visit typically includes a guided tour highlighting masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, with time for students to explore additional galleries on their own. Your EF Tour Consultant can confirm exactly what's included in your selected tour package.

Can parents travel as chaperones, and would they room with their child?

It depends. Some Group Leaders allow parents to join as chaperones or adult travelled while others want to keep the experience for students only. Check with your child’s Group Leader to see what their parent policy is. Chaperones play an active supervision role alongside the Tour Director and Group Leader.

Chaperone accommodations are typically arranged separately from student rooms — students room with peers of the same gender in groups of two to four, while chaperones have their own arrangements. If a parent specifically wants to room with their child, they should contact EF Tours directly to discuss options, as this can sometimes be accommodated depending on group size and hotel availability.

What is the optional Dutch countryside excursion like?

The optional Dutch countryside excursion takes students beyond Amsterdam to experience the traditional side of the Netherlands. The half-day trip visits the fishing village of Volendam and the historic neighbourhood of Zaanse Schans, where students can see working windmills, watch live cheese-making and clog-carving demonstrations, and stroll cobblestone streets lined with charming shops. It's a wonderful contrast to the urban energy of Amsterdam and gives students a picture of Dutch life outside the capital.
