While there were some enjoyable activities on this tour (Mayan ruins, Belize Zoo, zip lining) and I learned a lot about Belize, the overall experience was disappointing. On past tours, the lodging and food offered have definitely been superior to this tour. Our final hotel was terribly run down and unclean. Although it was located on the Mediterranean Sea, the ocean and beach were unusable due to the seagrass problem in Belize. I would not recommend this tour as it is currently structured.

Best. Trip. Ever.
This is the second time I took a group of high school students on this trip to Belize. This is an amazing experience, with action packed days that brought us through the jungle and ending up at the beach. Each activity was just as good as the last. The kids love this trip! I HIGHLY recommend it!

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
As I look back over ym planning documents, several things about this trip was NOT to my liking. I love to travel internationally, but hesitant to do so again with EF. The amenities were far less than what I am accustomed to. Hotels in disrepair, the meals were insufficient, and the "scammish attitude" of some of the hotel staffs we encountered

Super Fun Trip
Everything was great with incredible tour guides and some of the best experiences of my life. The only reason why I can't give it 5 stars is because of the amount of chicken and rice we ate. We had chicken and rice everyday which became old very quick. Other than that it was a great trip.

This tour was one of the best experiences of my life. The coordination and guide (Ricky) made it easy. The variety of experiences (history, culture, fun), and time with my daughter made it amazing. Thank you!

Great Experiences but Questionable Value
There were very positive experiences and really wonderful activities. I think my child gained a lot from this trip and it helped his confidence, helped him meet new kids, and was educational. Guide was very knowledgeable and made sure we were all happy.
Negatives: 1) we had one nice hotel, one average hotel, and one sub-standard hotel. This trip was very costly so the sub-standard hotel (cockroaches, no hot water, insufficient bedding, etc) is unacceptable for what we paid. The staff here were also unhelpful and sketchy. Screen hotels as they should be at least average. 2) Food was hit and miss but more miss than hit. It could have been better and a bit more filling for the kids. They were always hungry. 3) You need to provide support to help the teacher when travel plans go out the window due to airline problems. 4) There were more unplanned, extra fee activities than I would have expected and the fee was too high for what the children actually gained from the experience. It seems maybe the tour guide was helping his local acquaintances make extra $.
I still rate it “Good” because our child enjoyed the trip overall.

My son had a great time with his teachers and peers. Everything was included so he was able to enjoy the daily excursions with his group, even though he only had $100 cash for the trip.
We were able to pay for his trip over 2 years with small, manageable payments. The only difficult part of the process was the passport-start early!
Overall, he had a wonderful learning and relaxing journey.

I had a lot of fun in Belize this Spring Break Chaperoning students from my high school. Visiting the pyramids, cave tubing, zip lining, and snorkeling were some of the great activities we were able to do while in Belize. The food was good but I feel that they could have done or provided a better selection of Belizean cuisine. I felt that the food was not very authentic Belizean meals except when we stayed in the jungle. Service was pretty slow at the restaurants. I don't think some of the restaurants were use to accommodating such large group. Some students and adults had to wait for their meals.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient with such a large group. We had the best bus driver and all the tour guides were awesome.
The hotels were great 2 out of the 3 hotels had air conditioning.
I would have gave this tour a 5 star rating but EF tours emergency hotline was not help. We were suppose to leave Belize on Saturday at 530 pm but was delayed until 8 am the next morning because of the weather in Dallas. We called the emergency number and they were no help. Our tour guide organized us a hotel, transportation to and from the airport, and both dinner and breakfast. Make sure to buy travelers insurance, you will need it just incase something like this happens.
